As 2012 starts, there are many things that I want. All I need now is to know why I want it so much and if I am willing to endure the transformation to be able to fly.

Hello bloggie (sounds like a sink waiting to be drained),

I am back from another semester caught between the joy of everyday living and the sad realities that us humans have grown accustomed to. I have started reading again, the last book I've read was "The Lake of Dreams " by Kim Edwards. It was not as good as her previous work but Lucy Jarrett, the protagonist, reminded me too much of myself. I think it was her desire and reluctance for change that gave me the thought.

It seems to me that although I have a never ending desire for new and curious surroundings, I have a tight grip on how I want certain things to remain the same. When nostalgia hits me, it punches me in the face from the fist of Muhammad Ali. While reading the novel, I felt myself tear a few times not from the storyline but from mental imagery that I've formed from descriptors in the book. The movement of water, the appearance of the white deers and the Japanese cranes all created beautiful images in my head and left me thinking. I know I will keep running but should I pause and look back every once in a while? Will it fill me with regret or would it be my motivation to keep running?

There is no doubt that I have a problem. It feels like deja vu, time after time, the same situation, I am such a b*tch and I have to admit it. I have to change but I can't. Maybe it's my personality and it's ugly. Arghhh. I want to find a cave and hide inside until holiday arrives. But then again, maybe until the end of the holidays. I want people to forget that I exist. Don't come and look for me, I don't want to be found. Let me rot alone, I will return to civilisation when I am ready to face the world.

I am a bad person and as much as I want to change, I cannot. Karma is going to hit me hard and I deserve it.

I really don't know. I think I have early life crisis as compared to mid life crisis.
Once again I am faced with the realization that I don't know what to do with my life. Everytime this happens, I always wake up from my daze an inch closer to completely mapping my life out.
I hope that this will be the last time and I'll finally be able to figure it out.

That aside, I recently read a book ...its been a while since I've read a book for pleasure... about the swan king. King Ludwig II of Bavaria. He built the castle that inspired Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty castle. Should I tell you about the content of the book? Hmmmm, nope. You should go pick it up and read it for yourself. If you don't like reading, go wiki him.

Disclaimer: I am feeling totally random, hence some of the sentences might be left unfinished and my "stories" might be left unfinished depending on my mood and the degree of randomness I am feeling. Thank you for your consideration. Lol.

I donated blood a few days ago and immediately after the blood lost I had a lecture. Naturally, I was sitting with a few friends and a friend on my right, codename - Netbook, started a random conversation about blood types. Netbook explained how our blood types are determined the entire OO and OO partners will always have OO child and OA and OB's children could have all 4 types of blood types depending on luck. I will save you guys the boredom of having to read through all this. I went on to reveal my blood type - O pos and Netbook did the same. Netbook is a universal receiver and I am a universal donor. For all of you who have no idea what is a universal receiver, a universal receiver is someone with bloodtype AB, which means they can receive blood from all 4 major blood groups. And that was the end of our conversation regarding blood types because the lecturer started his 3 hour lecture.

It was only after I had time to think after lessons that something came to mind. I know that contrary to popular Asian believe, your blood type DOES NOT determine your personality, my forensic science lecturer would be so proud. Lol. But being a Asian ...or is it an Asian? pfft, whatever lah... myself, I can't help but wonder if it's true because from all the comic strips that I've encountered explaining the behavior of different blood types, it does seem true at times. And then, I sort of linked it to the whole universal donor and universal receiver thing. I am a universal donor, does this mean that I can express myself freely without feeling the burden of judgement, I "give" myself to the people around me all the time. Hence, O blood types are often portrayed as extroverts and playful. ABs, being 5% of the world population ...according to Netbook... is a universal receiver, does this mean that ABs are always receiving perceptions through their own observations? Don't blame me, blame the comic strips because they are always perceived as deep thinkers/quiet/introverts.

Does any of this make any sense to you at all? Do you get where I am getting at? Lol. Nevermind, I think its just me. Seriously, think about it. And if you still don't get it, think harder and you might just understand me. By the way, the last line should be motivating you to think because its pretty hard to understand me. Even I cannot understand myself. =/

Hello everyone, it's 6 minutes after Valentines Day. I hope that everyone had a memorable day. The sudden blog entry is prompted by the current song that I am listening to. The song is a song about love. Telling you to love yourself. Everyone is driven by the need to love someone else. We have forgotten that the most important form of love is to love yourself. How will you learn to love if you don't even know how to love your own self, your own body, your creativity, your abilities, your hidden talents whatever it might be and your own soul.

So before you go into depression and seclusion envious that others have a valentine, remember Valentines is not only about loving other but also yourself. Why not take the day to look into the mirror and discover your own beauty. When was the last time you spent time alone to think? What is your hobby? What are your dreams? When was the last time you did nothing but enjoy a cup of coffee? Maybe I have just given you an idea of what to do the next Valentine.

This is what I've discovered this Valentine's Day. I love to walk around campus listening to music. I love a good cup of coffee. I love to read nonsense online. And most importantly, I love spending time with myself. Now that I've fallen completely in love with myself, I think I can love everything and everyone in the universe.

Happy belated Valentines Day to those that I missed out. Life is a journey of self discovery. May the next Valentines Day bring you as much insight and meaning as it did for me this year.

It seems that I have recently found another addiction to add to my list, TUMBLR. It started when a friend told me about her addiction for the web during the exams period. You see, she is a amature photographer ...can I call her that?... She purchased a DSLR not too long ago and found passion in taking pictures of her travels. Young kids in Cambodia, sceneries of Hong Kong ...food sceneries. lol... and just random trees and leaves. So it seems natural for me to check out Tumblr for myself.

Within 2 days, I find myself tumbling all the time ...hence the title... That's it ...anti climatic isnt it?...

Following my first and second post on my necessities in life. I'm back with the third chapter in which I shall expose a little more on my daily obsessions ...2 post in 3 days! im on a row!...

YOUTUBE! That one word means more to me than any other social networking site. Others say FB, I say youtube is the way to go. I can spend hours typing random words on the search bar and it usually leads me to amusing results. You find one video that interest you, well waddaya know there are links on the right that will direct you to almost similar videos. Curse you IT Technicians that are working wonders for YOUTUBE and discovering new ways to enslave people like me to the site. There are numerous entertaining videos to be found.

My tag of choice, cute/funny babies. Lol! Kids are so adorable when they cant mouth their words properly and most importantly, before they start running around and being total nuisances. I am not a kid lover. If I had to take care of kids, it is very likely that I will kill them or poison them within 3 days. Just keep them away from me and all is well. There are exceptions of course but they are hard to come by.

Another type of video that I constantly watch on YOUTUBE are commercials. Coke has some of the best commercials ever and commercials from countries like Taiwan and the States are very humorous and entertaining. Korean commercials are filled with good looking people ...ooopss, got caught.... *Hehehe*

Hey hey! I can't believe that it has been 2 months since I last posted. To stop myself from revealing too much ...with words, mind you. what were you thinking?... I shall do updates in bullet form.

My earphones are spoiled, only one side is working so I might become deft on one ear. *=|*
I am slowly developing an affection for the colour GREEN. Its a breakthrough, trust me. I hated that colour.
I prefer reading synopsis on my favourite series online rather than watching them. So in other words, when I say that I am watching Gossip Girl, I'm actually reading the synopsis and only watching clips of it.
I think that one of my lecturers have a crush on me. *LMAO* Nah, I'm kidding. But then again, he might have a crush on me. He only remembers my name. How do you explain that?
I just captured a fly with my bare hands. Hah! Call me Bruce Lee.
I am shedding like a dog. Alas! The consequence of a perm.
The last movie I watched was Legend of the Guardians. Its the movie with the owls. Lol. And I learnt one thing from that movie, "Trust your gibbon!".

I know I've been gone for almost a month? School has been hectic with AIESEC, FOC, HSS and my academics. Everything is rushing to me all at once but I somehow like it ...if only i can say the same for economics...

I understand that this is only the beginning but I am strangely optimistic about the coming months. There will be many changes, tears will fall ...it already did... but we will walk through it together. If I have a choice between a roller coaster ride and sailing on a calm lake, I would take that roller coaster ride anytime. What's life without a little turbulence?

Omg, I've been trying to work my webcam for the past week and it's been a pain in the behind. The webcam is not working!!! Why why why? I am freaking out like a tadpole ...dont ask me why, i just felt like saying the word tadpole... coz I wanna post a vlog ...but since my webcam isnt working, i'll have to resort to typing...

I've been surfing the net like 24/7 lately coz I really have nothing else better to do that doesn't involve the internet. I am officially an internet worshipper, you don't know how to fix your webcam?, google it or better yet search for it on youtube. Want to know what your friends are up to? Facebook stalk them. Want to read stuff but don't know what to read?, log into various different sites. Randomly type some words into the search bar ...is that correct?... With that said, I am officially an internet zombie.

Life has been boring lately. I suppose I can't end this post by posting a single line right? *Hmmm* Can I end it by posting 2 lines instead? *=D*

I'm such a pain in the behind. *Hohohoho*

Oh oh, I finally opened my turquoise lenses. If I like them better than my gray ones I might just get lenses in turquoise and give up on my normal lenses ...but i still like black eyes tho. i dunno what has gotten into my eyes lately, they look bigger than usual...

Another thing that I realised about myself is that I get freaked out when I see people with no nose ...i know what you are thinking, wtf right?... It's not that they don't have a nose, I'm sure everyone will get freaked out if they see MJ on the street ...no offence to MJ fans, I love his music too. but you get my point... It's that sometimes, people put on so much make up on their faces that you dont see the bridge on their nose ...unless, you are like me, blessed with a no bridge, flat asian nose... Normally, if you dont see the bridge you see the shadow around the creases and the fat nose meat ...i don't know how else to explain it... Its like sometimes I watch tv and I see some asian chick ...usually asians, i am asian too therefore it's not that i am being racist coz if i am racist, i'll have a hard time looking at myself every morning... with lots of makeup and two holes as nose on their faces. It's scaryyyy. I don't mind if you use a bronzer or whatever to create a look like you have a super high nose bridge but just not holes as nose please. I'm sure your friends would prefer to have a human walking next to them than an alien ...coz that's how alien usually look like from pictures, huge eyes with no whites and no nose...

Anyhow, I'll start playing with my webcam and see if I look stupid trying to post a v-log. If I don't look like an idiot I just might start posting my blog posts by recording ...coz I'm too lazy to type. its my holidays, give my fingers a break, don't break them...

It's been almost a week since I've returned to good old KL.
And as much as I miss my friends in China, the one thing I miss most has got to be soya bean milk in Changsha.
Good old traditionally made soya milk with all the bean bits mixed with a little bit of water for 1.50RMB.
...that's RM0.75...
One in the morning and maybe another cup in the evening.
Freakin good, no other like it in KL.
*sighh*
I want me a cup now.

It’s a quarter to four and I am writing this from a gazillion feet up in the air with a very annoying guy that keeps pushing the back of my seat. This 1x1 set officially marks the end of my journey to China. What started out as an exploration of the exotic country in which my ancestors originated from …I think… has became an amazing journey that I will remember for the rest of my life …until I become diagnosed with Parkinson’s of course…

I started my journey at 3am on 30^th June with a cup of Starbucks while waiting for my AirAsia flight to Guangzhou. I was Facebook-ing to the right up to the point before I board the plane. Coz I am sure that I will not be able to indulge in my favorite pastime once I am in China …it’s banned in China, along with Blogspot, YouTube, Twitter etc… I don’t know about anyone else but I used to be a minor FB addict. I did not play the ridiculous games …no offence but I don’t want to spend 2 hours a day stealing vegetables from my friend’s garden or designing a house for my “pet”… and I did not stalk people either …I don’t click on random people’s pages to view their latest photos unless they are people that matters to me… I just have the habit of going on Facebook to drop my Twitter-esque status updates because I don’t tweet.

A month and 3 days later, it is now my time to think about what I’ve learnt from this experience. I’ve met amazing people, did some things that I thought I would never do in China …maybe Singapore or KL but never China… If you asked me if what I’ve learnt from this experience, I have no idea. I don’t know how to answer that question because it’s all too much for me to answer in a single sentence or two. You can give me one hour of your time and I would still be talking and telling you about my month there. China is different. Every part of China is different; people in the South are naturally shorter than people in the North. Food in the South is spicy whereas people prefer sweeter and lighter food in the North.

AIESEC wise, MoC has amazing externals that actually work WITH the MC to come up with programs like the MARS Business School and the external send facilitators to their conferences. I think that Singapore has much to learn and we should be more creative when forming partners with externals. They can provide us with so much if only we'd ask. Members are hungry to give more of their time and effort to AIESEC. It makes me feel envious that they have so much energy and passion in the cause. I swear, they spend a minimum of 3 hours ...at least... a day in front of the laptop to work. It's time for members of AIESEC Singapore to repent. Seriously, how often do you check your AIESEC mail? Do you read your AIESEC Newsletter or is it just another email that you send straight to the trash as soon as you see the title? There is no prefer LC in the world but I think that we still have much to learn despite our long history in Singapore. It's time for us to drive forward. Go Go Go!!!!

ParaKiss = Depression

I am depressed, I read Paradise Kiss again. That stupid manga never fails to break my heart.

Caroline and George have such chemistry why did the author have to ruin it.

But the again, separating them might be the best way to fossilize their relationship.

Because I can't imagine what would happen between the both of them if they were to leave for Paris together.

When they come together, its like fireworks, they burst into flames which consumes them.

...yes, this is how i speak when i am depressed, a little drama wont hurt...

To much manga and hearing too many stories have ruined my outlook on love.

I am deeply pessimistic about this issue

...unless i am a heroine in some romantic 18th century novels or regular manga will do too...

There are only a few ways of looking at it

Soul mates - they will not grow old together because they always meet when neither of them are ready to get married. So they miss the opportunity of true love. And no, the earth's population is too big so they will not coincidentally meet each other 5 years later in a nice cafe or in the middle of a busy street. Therefore, they will settle of 2nd best which comes at number 2.

2nd best - since you're soul mate is gone and you are getting old and you want something stable ...or rather your family is giving you pressure to get married... you settle for a fairly decent 2nd half but you will always remember you first.

And finally the one that you married for all the wrong reasons - people are doing this too often nowadays coz its so easy to get a divorce. It's like getting drunk and waking up married to some unknown guy you met in a bar that looked cute under REALLY DIM lights and the influence of one too many vodka shots ...does the name britney spears ring any bell?... And you wont be viewed as a rejected person or a slut ...always happens in old chinese dramas, the society will think that the divorcee did something REALLY BAD like slept with another when the husband decides to leave the wife, I BLAME THE MEN...

I don't think I will ever trust a guy unless he is that dude from the series that I am currently watching. He is super obsessed with that girl and she wants him to forget her. I don't know what she's thinking coz I would be damn pleased with myself and throw myself towards him if I were her.

*Sigh* The magic of a well written script. Damn those good actors. Lol.

Hi everyone, before you start cursing me for my lack of entries, please listen ...or read... this an give me a chance to redeem myself to all of you. As of 0930hrs on the 30th of June, I have stepped out of Kuala Lumpur and ventured into...........CHINA!

This might come as a surprise for some of my friends as I've kept this news pretty much to a bunch of close friends. I applied to help AIESEC in Central South University's summer sales team! This is my first CEED, my first time in China and the first thing I'm doing since the start of my term in AIESEC NTU's LT. I hope to learn lots of stuff in China and it is one of the fastest growing countries in the world ...in @ term as well as other terms...

There are a couple of things that I've found intriguing here in Changsha, Hunan, China.

I've come to a conclusion that everything is bigger in China ...i was captivated by the humongous billboards in the streets, 3 times the size of an average billboard in Singapore/KL. and that's the average size...
They eat everything with chili. There's chili in every dish ...Ah Kat & Miss Soo will have a hard time here, lol...
The driver seats in cars are on the left, like in America...its dangerous when i try to cross the roads because i keep looking at the wrong direction... *-.-"""*
At sun rises at 6.ooam and sets at 7 plus at night ...i woke up at 8am thinking it was 12noon...
And there's cold everything here coz the weather is so hot ...i tried cold porridge, i know it sounds weird...
The climate here is very extreme, winters can go to 0 Celsius and summer up to 40 degrees!
And apparently, my mandarin is pretty good. Coz everyone understands almost everything I am saying and they think its pretty fluent. Hohohohohoho~~ *^.^*

Hello everyone that's still reading my blog after I've pretty much gone off the face of blogging for the last couple of weeks. I've been packing fats and doing nothing in KL ...i'm gaining weight like a pregnant woman... Therefore I did not have much to blog about unless I want to rant out my frustrations ...kl traffic jams, irresponsible drivers, kl heat, my bad spending habits, etc... or bore you with childish stuff that makes me happy like catching up on tv, btw, fringe is AMAZING. And my brother is addicted to ball, basketball. So much so that he is skipping school to catch the NBA FINALS *(-.-)"""*...kids nowadays have it so easy, i wish i could tell me dad that i am not going to my lectures coz i wanna watch korean dramas on youtube...

I am back in NTU after 4 ...or was it 5? i don't remember but what the heck, not an issue here... days of intensive care reading in KL. The first thing I bought in KL was books, my 9 months in Singapore have been book-free ...not the academic kind, i can assure you that my months in NTU have been nothing but academic books... I feel so deprived of reading. I finally completed the Luxe series ...my guilty secret, early 19 century gossip girl, lol... and purchased "Love in the Time of Cholera" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I've been aching to read this book since I saw the trailer for the movie. As to how I got to know about the movie, I was surfing youtube for Shakira videos and I found a Spanish song sung by the Colombian songstress for the movie. It's a beautiful song ...even though I haven't got a clue as to what she was singing about...

Basically, the story is a Spanish love story between 2 different people that lasted for more than half a century. Its about an undying love that started as teenagers and continued throughout their life's even though they have not spoken directly to each other for more than 10 sentences. They communicated via secret love letters during their teenage years and stopped completely ...i think, i haven't got to that part yet... after the girl got married. The man continued to wait for her for more than 50 years until that girl's husband died of an accident at the ripe old age of 86. Despite the lack of direct communication, it is very interesting to read about the driving force behind the love that they share and the change that occurs within that 50 years either in the Spanish culture or the lifestyle and the change that the civil war brought to Spain.

Some of you might wonder, why on earth would I read the book when there's a movie based on the book. Take it from a self proclaimed nerd that the book is ALWAYS better. I have no intention of watching the movie because I feel that it will ruin the image of a perfectly well written book that i've conjured in my mind ...case in point - twilight, i didn't watch new moon and I am not going to watch the rest of the movies coz i feel like shoving that Robert dude into a drain hole for ruining Edward...

This blog post was written 2 weeks ago and I've been thinking if I should actually post it up coz its quite emo ....(T.T).... Gahhh!! Here goes nothing!

Hey all, guess what I am doing now? I’m taking a night bus going back to KL! (^.^) And because it’s a 6 hour long bus ride, I’ve packed along snacks and cookies to help me pass time more efficiently. I am now munching away like cookie monster after a strike. Listening to “Dream A Little Dream of Me” by Mama Cass. All that is missing is a good cup of mocha or chamomile tea. It’s almost 11pm and I am listening to a woman singing about her craving for a someone’s kiss and telling him/her ...i don’t discriminate... to dream a sweet dream of her. All I see outside my bus window is nothing except for the occasional streetlamp. Oh the song changed! It is now “Falling Slowly”, soundtrack from the movie “ONCE”. It is a duet, nice and soft.

Crossing that tiny stretch for “sea” made me feel so much more relaxed. I wonder why. People always ask me if I feel the stress studying in Singapore when I have always been a student in chillax Malaysia. And every time I would answer that it is not as bad as it seems but I do feel that it is a more conducive country that will push you further. You will, without a doubt, learn more and be more competitive. My brief explanation would always receive a few nods of head of agreement from my enquirers. Now I finally see what they mean when they ask me that question.

To be honest, I have never been a “model student” for it was never my role. I was the one that is always one step behind. Not behind someone but rather studying was one step behind my need to enjoy and play around until one bad result hit me in the face to tell me that exams are drawing near and I have to start studying. If I were to tell you the story of my high school years, you’d know that I was not the scholar or the one with the most A’s. I was in every way a normal kid, gossiping about boys, parties, dances even cheerleading ...yup, you’ve read it correctly. Cheerleading...

To return to the original question posed, I think Singapore is a country that you have to really like to fully enjoy your university years and to survive. There is NO WAY a person that puts off work until the last minute can grow in this country. You can spend your 4 years travelling to and fro Malaysia weekly, hating school and you’ll fall. You will fall HARD on concrete land and NO ONE will offer you a hand. That is the reality in this capitalistic country. The challenge is to survive, not to score. Sure, you can argue that you are only here to study, nothing more. Once your 4 years is up, you can pack your bags and bid Singapore farewell. But, your 4 years here will be HELL.

To succeed here, is to be a jack of all trades and master of at least 50% of what you do. And that is what I am trying to do. To expose myself in all areas so that I can be versatile and have enough experience to put me a cut above the rest. Now I realise that there is a price to pay, I think I have somewhat lost myself. My laughter is being replaced by sarcasm, my joy replaced by a hunger to succeed even if it means that I have to break the great wall, I will. Is it good or bad? I think I am turning obnoxious, and that is what the “stress” in Singapore has given me.

One good example of such is simply this blog post. It is over 600 words long and I plan to save it first so that I can write more tomorrow ...or a few hours later... I call this the beginning for kiasu-ness.

VIOLA! As you can see, I was suffering from a bit of depression but its all clear skies and rainbows now. Lol! But the highlight of my week was a breakfast encounter with a friend yesterday. He taught me something very valuable, no matter how big you think your problems are, there are bigger problems outthere. If you were to compare the scale between the two, you will realize that your problems are nothing but mere bumps that everyone has to encounter along a journey called life.

Sometimes I cannot help but wonder how apologetic people want others to get when they have done something wrong. First Tiger Woods then Jack Neo. At this point I know that you are probably thinking to yourself "wtf?!?! i don't have to read ANOTHER blog post on Jack Neo that st*pid m*ther f*cker !#%^&^&$". But then again, this is NOT JUST ANOTHER JACK NEO blog post. To be honest, this is more on "BROTHER, he did not screw your sister. Why the f*ck do you care that he has cheated with numerous other girls that want their 15 minutes of fame?".

In my humble opinion, I doubt that anyone would care about my opinion but nevertheless I shall give my 2 cents as this is my personal rambling portal. He has apologized to the nation which consists of millions of people who have NO RELATION AT ALL as to the entire incident. How sad do you want him to get? Do you want him to slap himself on national television or better yet, stab himself? When Tiger Woods made his public statement, people on YouTube were leaving comments saying that he looks insincere. It ticks me off, he almost lost his family and now that his wife if generous enough to forgive him, why is it that the general public who, once again, HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ENTIRE SCANDAL cant? Ironic isn't it. To be honest, if he was not that big of a celebrity it would not be that big of a deal. I am sure that somewhere out there, there is another Tiger Woods and nobody freaking cares.

Rather than putting a picture of Tiger/Jack in the front page of the local newspaper, why not cover something more important like the fact that corruption is so huge in some parts of Africa that less than 25% of food aid actually reaches the people who needs it or even something closer to home like that red shirt protest that is happening in Thailand. What is the government doing ? How can people help? What are the measures that are being taken or have failed in the past? People are living in poverty and fear every second of their lives yet, all the local media wants to talk about is how many girls are involved in the scandal.

It takes two to tango. I cannot say that I don't read People to find out if Kristen Steward is lesbian, which she isn't as reported by PITNB, but I don't want to wake up every morning for the past week to see Jack Neo's picture taking up the first 3 pages. This is absurd! Why are people so engrossed into something as trivial as this? There are bigger problems out there! Open your eyes! Millions are dying everyday, woman raped, kids killed, riots. It is extremely depressing to listen to CNN, it is even more so when I look at the local newspapers and the people around me that are wasting their lives away. The question that I want to ask you is:-

I feel the excitement bubbling under my skin! *Weeehehehe* I just found out that some of the friends that I got to know from NLDS have succeeded in the elections to be in EB/LTs on the MC/LC level ...i know non AIESEC-ers will be like "wtf?" with all the abbrevations. lol... I am sooo happy for them and it made me think of them more often now and I miss them lots. *(T_T)* I want to see them again especially after hearing good news from Leng and Meeh. *=D* And it has made me think about the incoming LT team too. I can't wait to see what everyone has planned for the coming term. I'm almost jumping of out my seat ...i would if i was not seated in a public area...

I’ve never had this desperate urge to write especially in the middle of an MRT ride but this thought randomly conjured into my mind and I find myself in the middle of a dilemma; to write or to let this train of thought flow out of my random brain and wake up tomorrow back to my mundane life.

How many of us have dreams? Childhood dreams, when we were digging soil for worms/ladybirds and when we still stop and listen to our surroundings. It was a time when we let away our precautions and doubts in others and simply be real. I knew my dream was working in KFC because I thought that if I could work in the fastfood chain, I could have KFC forever. It is rather ironic that I am now a by Sun's definition, “vegetarian that eats fish”.

And what are we today? It was easy to grow up but it is hard for me to remember what it was like growing. Everything is moving, morphing and evolving at such a quick paste that I sometimes forget to feel. It is now that I’m in a train, on the way to meet with my relative that I realise how much I have grown. Gone is the time when I still look out the window and have an image in my head fairies and gnomes. I remember throwing light pieces of paper in the air thinking that there were butterflies flying in the air. Now I just work on assignments after assignments.

To an extent, I think I gave up on dreams. Now my dreams are so materialistic and shallow that I am ashamed of myself, money, wealth, financial security and to be happy. How do I define happiness? Birkin? Prada? A car? Some say this is a trade off, morale and modernisation. Why can’t we have both?

Radioactive Reactiveness

NTU had a wine and chocolate fair!
Pay $2 and you get 4 tries of wine tasting.
So obviously i was there.
...im not an alcoholic...
I had this delicious white wine, it was selling for $38 ...this is the price from the wholesaler...
But being the poor student that I am, I asked my friend to take a picture to allow me to "advice" my parents to get it if they are in search of wines in the future.
Its so good, not dry, smells awesome and is very easy to down a bottle if you want to.
Definitely the highlight of my week.
I didnt try any of the chocolates tho, I was too into the alcohol.
Haha.
And the DEAN of students recognised me while I was holding an empty wine glass.
*shocked*
There are only 2 explanations-

he found me extremely outstanding and attractive ...very unlikely...
i did something very embarrassing ...this sounds more like me...

But since he's a nice old man and I am always doing something stupid, I let it pass and continued my wine tasting.

MSA's WooHoo! dinner was awesome!
I think that everyone did a good job especially the OC members that are extremely sleep deprived.
We even had a full scale dragon dance!
I was in awe coz its the first time that I've seen a dragon dance up close.
However, there was one thing that could be improved,

Other guys should learn something from him.
And after causing YC to fell very awkward coz us girls were literally staring at him like he's God,
we went back to the usual girl talk.
And from that talk, we've concluded that I dont need a boyfriend,
I just need someone to carry my books and notebook for me around NTU.
Coz it's seriously freaking heavy and its the only thing that I cant really do on my own.

Where can I hire a good looking, 6 feet tall, future driven butler that should have a sense of humor that is totally adorable and can withstand my forgetfulness and mad insane nature, not forgetting he should be caring and nice to all my friends.

Hey ppl, it's been a while and there's so much stuff going on.
I'm feeling a tsunami of emotions everyday.
Different things, activities, people, news.
They all trigger something in me.
It sounds so dramatic and emo but there's also happiness and excitement.

To kick start the semester, my CG had an outing/retreat at Pasir Ris.
The highlight of the event was when Jo, Jean, Jack and Rize attempted to teach me how to ride a bike.
Super funny lor, and this small unknown stranger girl passed by told me to not give up.
...LMAO...
All the while Jean was reminding me that its a life skill that I have to learn.
And I kept repeating it to myself like it's some sort of chant.

And Kani and some of the AIESECers was asking me if I'm going to run for EB.
Here is where I start to doubt myself.
I am not 100% confident if I should run for EB coz I dont feel like I've done enough as a ICX Team Member.

Am I capable of doing the duties as an EB?

The Best Tiramisu Ever

I am a DESSERT FANATIC!

Thinking about it makes my mouth water and I'll text my friends at 1am just to call them out to have a quick bite of ANYTHING sweet.

A day before I left Singapore for KL, I had dinner in a restaurant owned by my mum's friends.
A lovely husband and wife team.
*all together now, "awwww"*
They perfected their craft in UK and a bunch of other countries.
...i think Japan and NZ is in that list...
I've tasted their dishes previously and I've always loved it.

Their signature dish, FISH & CHIPS is so amazing that it appeared in the newspapers TWICE.
But that's not all, they have SPAGHETTI GORENG, it reminds me of a more atas version of mamak mee goreng.
...seriously damn yummy...

But that's not all, they also have homemade desserts!

OMFG, super nice lor.
I have very high standards when it comes to desserts and I have to say that their tiramisu is the best I have ever tasted.
I love the fact that it isn't the usual tiramisu slice and it comes in a cup.
...like those 5 star hotels/restaurants...
It's so good that I finished it within 10 seconds.
My brothers only got a spoon each.

You absolutely have to try.
The restaurant is DON & GRILL BISTRO.
They serve Jap and Wetern food and it's freaking good.

Luckily for me, my family are not Christmas people and that saves me from the pain of having to buy 19 presents like MissQ *ahem* ...paiseh...

It's been 3 months, still no progress? Lol. That's what I get from my family and friends. Somehow they think that coming to uni is the BEST way to fish for a boyfriend ...i beg to differ... Why is it that they think I have so much time to go roam about with a sensor stuck on my head search for the right TYPE and casting a bait out for all to see? If I have time to do that, might as well use that time to get some extra sleep *(-.-)"* It's not that I don't want one, but I am too preoccupied with other stuff like all the ECAs and how can I forget my "FAVOURITE" hobby, STUDYING! Did you guys forget? That's what I'm here for.

Why the sudden urge to bark all this out in a post? Coz I noticed that every time I'm online, the first question my brother asks me is "Found a bf yet?"...pls note the "yet" part... And my friend from KL asked me "Found anyone you like?". Am I really that sad ar? Coz I have not found anyone yet. In fact, I was just having this conversation with Jo the other day and she said the SAME THING. Is it us, or is it just the fact that there's no SINGLE and ATTRACTIVE GUYS in NTU. In our defense, we have to note that WE ADORE OUR SINGLE LIFE. No worries, no troubles, no having to care and think of his feelings. In short, we can do whatever the hell we want. *(^-^)*

Today has been a fulfilling day & the weather is nice!
...eventho it's only 3.30pm and the rest of the day might turn out shitty...

Woke up at 7am to prepare for my @ company meeting.
I was super sleepy but I still managed to put on make up.
...liquid liner wei...

Without proper light and I was dead scared that I might come out looking like Amy Winehouse.
I mean I think that racoon eyes are better suited for a night out rather than a MEETING.
And not to mention that I've been out of applying make up practise ever since I've been here coz I think that I could use that 15 minutes of sleep.
Therefore, I am ever astounded with those girls that manage to attend 8.30am lectures with hair and make up done.
...once I put on make up, I immediately think of the all the hassle that I have to go thru getting it off my face =\...

The meeting in Tanjong Pagar went pretty okay.
...note to self-have to go back to that area coz it's so malacca-ish, old buildings and stuff...
It was my FIRST ever meeting.
Needless to say, I was super afraid that the wrong words would come out of my mouth.
...I have a tendency to say what's on my mind without thinking much, oops...
The GM was a very nice guy not stiff and corporate but I guess you have to be friendly when you're working in a hotel.
And I have to add that the hotel is really pretty.
It's got that heritage feel to it and the interior has an old english charm.

Once the meeting was over, I got back into my room and removed the make up.
Haha.
But I love my eyes with make up.
Coz it looks longer and bigger.

With Facebook's feature of adding videos from YouTube etc. You can really entertain yourself with the numerous videos that are provided by your very free friends. Lol. My homepage seems to pop up with a different video every 15 seconds. But one video in particular hit a home run. It's a short clip off BBC interviewing a Malaysian university student ...you know, the one that created the whole ruckus when the Selangor Menteri wanted open up 10% of the admission of that uni to non-bumi students...

With the PM trying to sell the whole OneMalaysia idea to everyone, how can he say those things on television and mind you, it isn't even TV1 it's BBC! ...hello? think much? i guess not =/... Basically what he said in that short clip shows how insensitive he is to non-bumi citizens. I quote -

"this university is not for the non-malays"

"the Malays should have the special right because basically the Malays are the son of the soil of this country and basically we are given this type of right because we have given up citizenship to the non-malays, the Chinese and the Indians"

Yup, that's exactly what he said including all the "basically"s. I made myself watch that video 5 times to get every word right. I don't want to go into detail about this because I don't want this to be labeled as a political post or anything of that sort. I'm just trying to give you something to think about.

Btw, the video stated that he is a " Malay student leader". *hmmm* And, he called a structure made of metal, metal on tv. Seriously, I have NO IDEA WHY but I just find that so amusing.

It was so sweet of them and I totally did not expect them to come knocking at my door in the middle of the night with cake, muffin ...huimun took note that i love muffins, so sweet... prezzie, card and good singing voices. lol.

We went to Esplanade to have dinner with the interns and they gave me a card and celebrated b'days for octo-babies ...i stole this word from jee wei, lol. sounds like octopus...

Next up, these are the pictures I took when I was back in KL. I decided to visit my grandparents back in Kampar for 2 days. I was in the train station taking a KTM back in Kampar, Perak. It was my first "train-ing" experience. It's nice and beats taking a bus ride back anytime.

...you know how KTM is ALWAYS late in KL, surprisingly the inter-state ones are super punctual...

...the new Kampar train station, so empty, very horror movie-ish...

...the seats are okay but i saw some dude wiping his hands with the blue cloth that's covering the seat. GROSS!...

...sigh, the country, nice and peaceful...

I would recommend taking the train if you don't mind dirty toilets ...i didn't go to the toilet but it looked dirty from the outside.lol...

...I´m in my blogging mood this week...

Some people know ...some might not... that I enjoy reading fairy tales especially the original works or the Gothic adaptation.

I actually tricked Kah Peow to crash my class once and i´ve never seen him since. lol
...i dunno how to spell his name. i call him Keppel and he complains. but it sounds so chio yes? =D...

In his defence ...i mean the lecturer... he is not boring.

Hi people, I´m very sorry if you feel that I´ve been neglecting my blog. The truth is I want to say SO much but I just can´t find the words to explain it all into a few paragraphs. Nor do I know how to make it interesting so that you´ll be able to visualize it in the manner that I want you to. Everyday is a new experience and so far, it has been pretty awesome. I met so many different people. Even though there are times that I feel like just dropping everything and give up but the end result just keeps me going. It is hard to put a measure on the satisfaction that I feel from every event, every new friend and every opportunity given to me. *teary eyes*

One good example would be the Mid Autumn Festival (MAF) last night. We were given a little more than 2 weeks to organize a night for all M´sian students staying at the mid hall area. At first, I was skeptical. Thinking ¨me? emcee? 2 weeks? performance? small budget? WANT MOONCAKES? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? ...LOL, I know I´m like super drama-fied but I promise you all these thoughts were constantly circling my head... But at the end of it all, I think we put up a pretty good show. Carina is a domestic goddess ...super good cook and artist... Daniel and Nicholas ...sorry la, I dunno how to spell your chinese name properly, I would have spelled it Jun Jie. so I opted for your english name instead =P... are super efficient choreographers. And the rest of the team worked day and night to make sure it works out. The experience brought us closer together. =)

And I have to mention that I am constantly surprised by everyone´s enthusiasm and supportive encouragement. Its like I can mow someone over and still get away with it ...not that I want to but, err, lets not go there... And the seniors are always there even though they don´t have to be there. I know that I can call them for help and they would reply me with a solution ...seniors beware coz I WILL call. hahaha... At times like these, I miss my friends back home. MissQ, Drea, that idiot of a dinosaur, manda, MissSoo, add fish, the two CHEEs from Sentosa, auntie, zu, carol, shins ...i´m referring to ShinLi like calling her Shins. lol... etc. etc.

Fret not! I will be back in KL soon. Back on SUNDAY AFTERNOON, 27TH of SEPT!

I feel like that White Rabbit from Alice in the Wonderland, always looking at my watch and running around the campus from one place to the next. Constantly repeating the phrase "meeting, meeting"...ok la, the white rabbit said "i'm late, i'm late" but that not the point... The point is ONE MONTH FLEW BY. I can't believe that I've been here for a month. It only feels like a week? at most. And my mid terms are coming up. *wrinkles forming*

Anyhoo, the past weeks have been pretty hectic but fun. It was nice to be able to meet lots of different people in JUMPSTART and the senior AIESECers are super nice people. I am uber excited to start experiencing the AIESEC experience! Events for MSA have started and I will be going supper hopping on Saturday night ...going all over and eating food, yum yum... But I have to start managing my time carefully ady, cannot slack liao. Have to plan for upcoming events and study!!! *a face of determination*

And I´ve just received news yesterday on the passing of a friend of mine. I pray for him and wish his family well. It it a tragic to lose someone like him and I regret not talking to him or telling him who great he is when I had the opportunity to do so.

Hey everyone!
I´ve been super busy lately and will be super busy for the rest of the month.
Mid term is coming up and I´m not prepared!
I can feel the stress kicking in, slowly and steadily creeping into my usually very ¨saja¨ system.
...accounting, forensic science, french, macroeconomics, human resource management...
No time to slack! Must work and work and work.
My schedule is starting to fill up with different meetings and activities.
But I guess its worth while coz at the end of the day, I´ll be more organized and efficient when it comes to managing my time.

Nevertheless, I did manage to meet up with Tomas on Sunday *yay!*
He was playing with his band in Singapore for Baybeats.
It was nice to be able to meet up with him for dinner, chit chat, goyang kaki in his room and watch him play with the rest of his band mates.
Then I walked from Esplanade Arena to Cityhall MRT Station in a record breaking 15 minutes.
...trust me, it´s pretty darn far...
Coz I didn´t wanna miss my last bus back to my hall.
But it was worth it la.
One night of stress free music listening and catching up.
*zen face*

Anyhoo, this is just a short update!
I´ll post more after I attend JUMPSTART! in NUS!

This weekend, 2 days 1 night. I wonder what we´ll be doing there.

Hey it´s a long one! *scream and cheer* Due to my lack in enthusiasm in posting a long blog post, I have been slacking and writing shorts ones pretty often to make up for it. But now that I am WIDE AWAKE and UNABLE TO SLEEP, I finally have nothing better to do than to blog.

Anyhoo, uni life is slowly creeping up on me. The usual day starts off at 8.00am ...unless I have a class at 8.30... then it´s off to the bus stop, attending classes, lunch, attending classes, back to my hostel, nap a bit ...nothing can stop me from sleeping unless, my brain doesnt want to like now... dinner and i´ll end the day with going online while completing my tutorial assignments. So that´s it, pretty mundane and boring. There´s nothing much to say until the meetings and interviews for clubs begin.

Btw, I´m going to church tomorrow ...MissQ will be proud of me... Honestly, I am pretty excited and looking forward to it. This is most likely coz I have finally come to terms that everyone needs someone to guide them whenever they are in trouble. That person will lead you to the right path or give you the strength within yourself to face the troubles ahead and give you a place to find peace and comfort. I think that I am now at that period in my life. Everything is happening so fast, different people in a different surrounding.

I have my good days and the occasional bad ones. Back in KL, its so easy to find comfort. I know that my friends will be there and bring me back when I´m all emo and shyt. They dont mind when I suddenly turn silent and understand that it´s normal ...coz i am bipolar like that. lol... Sigh, where are you ppl? That stupid dinosaur say wanna come Singapore this weekend, but ffk me ...luckily i know better than to believe him...

I think I am turning all emo coz I´m tired. Should try to go sleep now. Muak muak, kiss kiss, muak muak kiss ...super random...

Hey I´m back for another 5 minutes of non stop continuous frantic typing.
At the end of this post, you´ll realize that this is an extremely random, no context, irrelevant post.

Anyway, ppl who knows me well will know that I´m an avid tv surfer.
...serious, i will change the channel every 5 seconds...
Its something I do until I find a program ...i dunno why but i keep spelling this word as programme... interesting enough to capture my attention.
Normally it´s a music video, a documentary or something on E! or Star World.
But now that I´m here, there´s NO TV!
...apart from the tv in the media room la, but very paiseh to change the channel all the time with other ppl watching with me...
So I am missing out on my fav. tv shows

And for some unknown reason, I keep logging on to the star online to read the Malaysian papers.
...I´M TURNING INTO MY DAD!!!...
Anyhoo, I found out that the cases of H1N1 back in M´sia have been pretty severe.
So this is a post to all my friends, family or just plain random ppl out there.

Lots of clubs and shops have set up booths in the campus.
...and the bag i saw in Bugis is also here, must remind myself to stay away from that booth...
To enable myself to stay in a hall next year, I must be active and participate in curricular activities.
But knowing me horr, I always tend to stay away from sporting stuff except volleyball, dancing and swimming.
So I shall stick with that trend. Lol.
...sorry la, i cannot sweat too much, will get severe rash...
So far, the clubs that I am interested in are-

rotaract ...duh right, once an interactor, will always stick to associated clubs...
aiesec ...looks very interesting especially the traveling to other countries part...
HSS ...semangat! have to support school...

We all know there´s a ¨statement¨ that´s been made by many saying that goes a little like this = many ...but not all... of the academically intelligent in Malaysia would leave the country after completing their foundation to further their studies in a foreign land.
...true or false? i´ll leave it for you to decide...

But i must say that after getting to know some of my M´sian counterparts better, it is clear to me that I am surrounded by some of the smartest people from our country.
Example -
about 50% of my group members are scholars,
there´s an Olympiad contestant ...i didn´t even know that Malaysians take part in Olympiads...,
most of them scored 4.o and,
they have started forming study groups within the first week of school.

This is all extremely overwhelming for someone like me.

Hello ...decided to stop with the previous starters liao... I miss banana leaf rice! I mean they have Indian cuisine here in campus but not with the banana leaf ...so potong stim right? How is it banana leaf rice without the BANANA LEAF?... That´s the only thing I miss so far. LMAO. I know that it sounds damn mean but I´m still in my honeymoon period. Give me a few more weeks and I´ll start to daydream bout everyone back in M´sia.

I attended my first Macro class! I must say that the lecturers´ notes are extremely brief so I guess it´s up to us to read and reread the textbook ...my ¨favorite¨ pastime activity (-_-)¨... And I have yet to walk around my campus to take pictures. Lol. So errr, use your imagination. Just think of trees and errr, buildings. *wide smile*

I´m still camping in front of the monitor so I guess it´s pretty easy to spot me in MSN or FB but I have to warn you that I might not be able to reply you people as I am still trying to spot for vacancies in order to take 18AUs this semester. It´s super stressful coz it´s like a war zone and everyone is trying to add modules ...I refresh the page every 2 seconds until I give up and then start again 15 minutes later (T.T)...

Btw, I´m taking French this sem ...YAY!!!!!... I am super excited coz French is so, French. Lol. It just sounds damn sophisticated and interesting. Wanted to take Korean but no vacancies so, was caught between Spanish and French. And I managed to find a spot in the French class so VIOLA! French it is!

The programmers organised an amaSING race for us and we sort of walked around a few tourist attractions and malls.
Clark Quay, Fort Canning and I saw a pair of really cheap shoes but they didn´t have my size.

Pulau NTU Week 1

Hey people of the world, my first week in Singapore has FLOWN out the window and the best part is, I have yet to set foot off the campus ...not that i´m complaining... I promise to upload pictures soon because the campus is amazingly pretty. It feels as tho NTU is located in another country on it´s own. It´s all green and peaceful zen-ish ...many claim that there´s wild boars living near my hall. lol...

It will definitely take me a while to find my way within the campus without a map coz all the buildings look annoyingly similar to each other ...hopefully my ¨super¨ memory skills can help me out (-_-)¨... And I have not mention the numerous amount of ¨shortcuts¨ and alleyways that are available to those who knows about their existence. The not so good is that campus mainly consists of slopes and stairs ...what´s going to happen to the 5 pairs of heels that I packed with me????...

So far, I´ve only met some of my fellow anak bangsa freshies+seniors and orientation is super fun ...eventho I have to wakeup wee early in the morning and sleep super late at night... 7 days of screaming, playing games, chicken dancing, hand painting, walking, walking errr, walking and sitting on the floor until my ass hurts. Errr, yea that sums up the entire orientation. Lol. But all the sweat and pain is worth it coz I think it´s a good start to my 4 years here. The seniors have been very helpful and forgiving ...coz I always buat bising muahahaha...

p/s - i´m a little bummed out that I wont be able to go to SAM for FLEA-TIQUE. *frowns*

I've been reading and re-reading ...i know it sounds funny (-_-)"... my first addiction post thinking of what other things that I cannot live without. It still amazes me of how I seem to know so little of myself and there are times where my friends notice my quirky habits more than me ...like how I stare into space or how I turn OCD whenever my desk is messy coz I cant study when its messy. errr, lets not go there... And I've sort of encountered a writers block ...sounds so pro. lol... when I had to think of what else I'm "addicted to". But after looking at my room and my web history, it's pretty easy to come up with the rest. Coz I just see the SAME THING over and over again.

So here's the next two

There's the keeping my mailbox as clean as possible. I swear, it's the FIRST thing I do everytime I go online ...which means I do it daily... I cannot tahan seeing more than ONE PAGE of mail kept in my mailbox. It's like a bug and I will keep squashing it until it's gone. I know that with the ever expanding mail capacity I can never delete a single mail but it's not important! Why keep it and make your mailbox look messy and unorganised? I know Miss Q does it coz I've seen her mailbox. Lol. And I actually deleted a few of her mails ...with her permission of course... My gmail account has 3 kept mails and my hotmail account has 10? mails that are important from the uni. My junk mail is ALWAYS EMPTY coz I delete those mails everyday. That's how obsessed I get ...i wonder if this a psychological thing?... It's like a drug, everytime I clear my mailbox I feel a sense of peace like the world is a better place. Lol.

Next up is books. This runs in the family, we all buy lots and lots of books ...but the champion has to be my mum... Thrillers, romance, chic lit, supernatural, fiction, non-fiction bla bla bla you name it we got it ...even scifi, which I detest... I guess it's a good thing coz no harm can come from reading right? WRONG! ...but only in my case larr... You see, when I read, I tend to shun everything else. I'll read while eating, in the car until I feel dizzy, before I sleep ...the best time to read!... while the teachers' teaching in class ...which is never a good thing to do... and ignore my friend while they are talking ...i'll get mad if they keep disturbing me... My poor friends, sa rang hae! I love the smell of old books ...especially the brown torn ones, hahaha...

So if you are in need of a good mailbox cleaning, call me! Or if you have old books that you wanna get rid of, call me!

I'll happily settle those problems for you. =D

Hello people on Earth ...it's slowly becoming a habit to start my posts like this... It's time to catch up on books and all things very "me". Anyhoo ...i stole this from Miss Q. hahaha... I've read a number of books written by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child and in my humble opinion, THEIR BOOKS ROCK! Why am I raving about them? Well, it's because of a character they created Mr. Pendergast, he's basically the backbone that makes all their books interesting. The latest installment is 'Cemetery Dance'.

...you can read the novels by itself but it's nicer if you start from the beginning...

Pendergast is back and he's investigating murders committed by killers that are already dead. Hah! I see that I've captured your attention. To know more, go buy/borrow/steal it ...i' have to note that i'm not advising you to steal =D... IMHO, this book is better than the previous installment 'The Wheel of Darkness' but my favourite is still 'The Book of the Dead' and 'The Cabinets of Curiosities'. Therefore, if you are a fan of thrillers and all things weird, the Pendergast books are a pretty good read.

Furthermore, I think it's unfair how Malaysians are portrayed as people who don't read enough. It's time for a change! Please read! *bows down like Japanese samurais*

Next up is tv time! You know how I'm bumming around now without anything to do. So the only thing I can turn to is - a) internet. b) mobile. and c) tv. And when the clock strikes 3.00pm, I cant help but to change the channel to MTV.

But that's not the point, what relevant is how much Olivia Palermo ...the show's equivalent to Gossip Girl's Blair... LOOKS LIKE LEIGHTON MEESTER. Seriously, they look alike. Hey people on Earth. I'm back from Genting!! Weehehee. It was loads of fun and money spent. Lol. Now that I'm back in KL I am greeted with SHOCKING NEWS.

The thing that K.O-ed me is the passing of an amazing local director. I'm sure that many have already heard that Yasmin Ahmad passed away. I am very surprised and shocked because her Petronas commercials are the first thing that comes to mind when our Merdeka celebrations are coming. I always look forward to her commercials. They are meaningful and hit close to home. It makes you think of yourself and reminds you of the important people in life.

And when I watched SEPET, I was shocked by the honesty in her movies. I never expected ANYONE to be brave enough to approach Malaysian issues like she did ...it you watched the movie you'd know... And yet time and time again she delivered in a subdue but in your face manner. The main plot itself was enough to keep you interested and wanting more. You cant help but to nod your head whenever as scene is placed in front of you and you know that it happens in Malaysia. *It is the truth and the truth is not always pretty*

I'm always eager to watch her works of art. Its never boring even if there are no fighting scenes or twenty feet robots shooting missiles. Her death is a loss to our entertainment industry. She's creative and makes movies that is different from all other local movies ...coz M'sian movies always look like they took ideas from a foreign movie. want proof? cicakman = spiderman. and i'm not gonna even mention the tonnes of local movies that resemble the fast and the furious...

Hopefully, M'sian directors will look up to her as an inspiration. I still see hope for our local entertainers ...my Malaysia Boleh spirit will not die and I honestly think that we're a bunch of smart ppl but only restricted by certain boundaries...

Hello people of the world. I am proud to say that I've FINALLY watched Confessions of a Shopaholic! I know I'm very out of date in the movie watching department but you can't blame me for I am a very jam packed, tight scheduled, hard to see person with numerous plans and datelines *try saying it fast 3 times*

I cannot explain how or what has gotten to me during the period of the last couple of days but I feel a little terrified to have to leave so soon ...13 days and counting... Being a not-very-sociable type to begin with, I guess it's the "meeting new people" part of the journey. I'm afraid that I can't find a group of friends that I can 'click' with. And I do not enjoy orientations ...i blame it on bad previous experiences... The whole "hi, i'm crystal. nice to meet you" thing is not an area of my expertise. Tho I do think that most people find me easy to converse with ...i hope it's not wishful thinking...

And while the little voice in my head is thinking of ways to settle into the campus comfortably I can't help but worry about what I'm going to wear. Yes, say all you want. I'm such a bimbo bla bla bla. But you cannot deny the fact that clothes are essential and you ARE what you wear. Imagine me, 5'9, medium length jet black hair, ...i take pride that my hair is naturally coal black. muahahaha... mouth speed faster than a bullet train, tan skin and walking in with 3 large bags on heels. Your first thought would be = she's the high maintenance type. Hello! I beg to differ. And that is why my friends told me and I quote "Crystal, you better hide your heels for the first 2 months. Coz you'll scare all the guys away"...gee, what good friends i have (-_-)"...

Therefore, I cant help but worry about what I'm going to wear. Being tall, it's hard not to stand out because the first thing people would say to me is = wah, you're quite tall eh. And I cannot say much but to smile.

In high school I was the "nice, friendly, tall girl".

In Sentosa I was the "friendly but in your face, honest, intimidating, tough, don't mess with her girl" ...i have no idea where they get that one from. maybe it's the height...

And now, I'm worried of what my next "label" will be. It's NOT about being popular or all those stupid drama you see on tv. It's about the first impression that I give to others. It will be a crucial factor when you start working and exposing yourself to the society. It determines your ability to work with others as a team, a group and personally, I'd like to be able to mingle with people instead of being a loner.

It makes you think, what is the first image that YOU project to others. We all are different and subconsciously, our posture, speech and behaviour gives others an idea of who we are. It represents us and makes each and everyone of us unique.

Whoa, this turned out to be a long one I hope I didn't bore you. I could delete a few paragraphs but I too proud of the fact that I finally posted something semi-inspiring to do so. Muahaha. *face bloated up and red with pride*

Lookie what I got! A Korean phrasebook! Muahaha. I´ll be indulging in my new favourite past time hobby for the next few days ...learning a language I would most probably never use...

So forgive me if I start posting in Korean ...don´t worry it´ll come with English explanation... Not that I want to master the language ...not possible with a small phrasebook... but being able to understand a small part of Korean tv shows and series would be great. Coz translators on KBS don´t translate everything into subs for Korean junkies like me. =(

I have another self assigned project as well, I´m trying to create a lookbook with my clothes. I need to pack soon and wanna just bring practical clothes ...suitable for uni as well as outings with friends... Hopefully I´ll be able to choose the clothes I´ll bring there with the help of the lookbook. *keeping fingers crossed*

Inspired by the giveaway post that I've written a day or two earlier, I decide to write one on my favourite fashion obsession. BAGS! Muahahahaha.

To those who know me well, I'm sure you guys are equipped with the knowledge that I'm a bag hoarder. Even though I can't afford branded ones yet ...I feel guilty if I make my parents buy me an expensive one. =( I am determined to buy my first branded brand with my own money!... I do have my preferred brands. Here are the TOP 3 ...take note if you wanna impress me. lol...

At number 3 is Marc Jacobs

This man can do anything! I adore his clothes, shoes, bags and his Daisy perfume ...I managed to convince my mum to get a bottle. Haha... He is a genuis. It's fun but not over the top and who can forget his weird heels? Marc Jacobs, if you're listening ....or reading... I salute you!

Holding the number 2 spot is....... Tod's

Oh look! Another perfectly crafted bag! Weeeeehehehe *on cloud nine* Okay, I have to admit that I'm more of a classic bag person. I prefer to purchase bags that are timeless, suitable for all occasions and most importantly roomy and big ...at 5'9, I'll look like a giant if I carry a small bag... Therefore, I am biased when I buy bags. I won't usually spend thousands on a "quirky and cute" bag ...I'll go Betsey Johnson when it comes to clothes but not bags. Sorry.... I have to say that Tod's is my comfort zone. I'm zen when I'm near Tod's. *calm and at peace*

My holy grail of luxury brands has to be PRADA *spotlight shining down*

Who in their right mind would say no to a PRADA. Honestly? ...Don't lie... Even if the bag in that picture is from the 2006 collection. Are you kidding me??? Tastefully done, no monograms ...no offence, I'm not much of a fan but I won't complain if you wanna buy one for me =D... soft leather, a classic bag *At this moment, I'm purring like a cat* Prada has to be my fav among all brands. Everything they come out with is immaculately done. No flaws. Okay, if you're gonna complain about the bleeding ink problem with the fairy bags. There's ONE flaw. The fairy bags are still pretty right? I love everything Prada, clothes, bags, perfume, ANYTHING. Lol.

With my obsession, you would think that I love all brands right. Well I hate to say this but there are a few ...a very limited few... that I don't "agree" with. No offence to people who are fans but FENDI *shakes head* and Coach ...thanks but no thanks... isn't my type.

But then again, with the price tags on these bags, I think I'll end this post here and go back to studying. \O-O/

Hands in the air if you stayed up all night yesterday to watch the Michael Jackson Memorial on CNN! I know I did until 4am. I never expected myself to cry because the main reason I stayed up is to watch Shaheen sing ...I heart that chubby cheeks and dimple kid... But little did I know that I will wake up the next morning with bengkak eyes.

The moment the event started I teared, maybe it was because suddenly all my MJ related memories hit me in the face. I remembered my brothers and I listening and singing along to his songs when we were kids. Trying, and failing to do the moonwalk by sprinkling baby powder on the floor ...don´t laugh, you know you did it too... It was a sudden revelation and I regret that I didn´t find out earlier. I guess I´ve always been his fan. I know that I can´t compare myself to his other fans but I will always remember him as the amazing performer and songwriter that he is. There were 4 moments in the memorial that broke my heart.

The first was when his casket reached the auditorium and the choir was singing the gospel song. That was the moment that brought back all the memories. It finally convinced me that he is really gone.

Moment number 2 came when Stevie Wonder performed ¨Never Dreamed You´d Leave in Summer¨. The song, Stevie Wonder´s words before he started singing, breaks your heart.

Brooke Shield´s speech brought me another pool of tears. She looks so genuinely upset and devastated that MJ is gone.

Last but not least was the words spoken by Paris Jackson, MJ´s daughter. It was short but enough.

Just blogging about it now makes me cry all over again.

All I want to say is, MJ rest in peace. You will stay forever in our hearts and your music will continue to live on for eternity.
